Solving the Financial Equation for Your Company
The biggest issue most entrepreneurs say they encounter is lack of capital. However, capital in 2006 is plentiful. Money continues to flow into the stock market through brokerage firms, investment banks, and mutual funds. Several private equity funds have reached Superfund status. $2.2 Trillion now reside in hedge funds.
Lack of capital, in a broad market sense, is therefore NOT the problem. What is the problem then? you ask. The problem is lack of access to capital in a company-specific sense. Many small companies for which capital is an issue simply have no idea what capital source best fits their profile and consequently encounter brick walls pursuing financing from the wrong sources.
Another issue with obtaining capital is the general lack of preparednessof many small companies when they go in search of capital. Many companies have one or two person management teams, inadequate cash management systems, or a nonexistent or poorly structured business plan or executive summary, among other issues.
Toca Family Business Services can help you deal with both issues hindering lack of capital: lack of access and lack of preparedness. To address the lack of access, we offer financial packaging, strategic financial advisory, and interim CFO services. To tackle the lack of preparedness, we offer management resources including interim CFOs, financial advisory to address financial issues, and operational restructuring oversight. For those small businesses experiencing non-financial operational or strategic problems we offer similar, more involved services including interim COO and CEOs and strategic and operational advisory.
